Day 13: A Quiet day in Colmar

A much quieter day as compared to the weekend crowd.

Museum Unterlinden: https://www.musee-unterlinden.com/en/home/

Art?
I call it art.
This is definitely art. A shield, painted with the sun in the center, and all 4 seasons around the outside edges.

Ooooh a wine press in the basement of the museum

Outside, the rain starts, so we took shelter in a couple of market stalls

Quiches!
Cookies!

Check out this stank cheese shop. Open the door and Bam! Face full of feet!

So, after a bit of  dorking around town, we grabbed a slab of subtle Bleu cheese, some gooey Camembert with a layer of truffles sandwitched in, a couple of landjaegers, another bottle of Cremant, some local honey, 2 crunchy baguettes, and a handful of cookies to round out the meal prep.

Our dinner for the evening

Smear room temp cheese on the soft inside of the bread, like butter.  Drizzle honey over it. Tear a bite off, drink some wine.  Close your eyes and savor. Bite off some Jaeger, drink some wine, close your eyes and savor.  Repeat!

We’re saving the best for last: chocolate eclair, with chocolate cream in the middle.

We’re heading out early tomorrow for straußburg.
