Interesting story on the plaque above this statue. This is actually a statue of the Pope Gregory the 13th but since Napoleon had his army destroying any such statues they stated it was Saint Patronis so that it would be saved. Pretty smart if you ask me.
This is a picture of one of the older porticos that are all over the city. They were actually constructed so that they could creat additional housing for the university students to b pie able to have places to live. Plus they make it better to walk around in either the hot sun or rain.
